Ryan Giggs bluntly admits that he is interested in training two Premier League clubs
Ryan Giggs has expressed interest in job vacancies as managers at Everton and Leicester City.
The Manchester United legend served as Louis van Gaal’s assistant during the Dutchman’s tenure at Old Trafford before Jose Mourinho took control of the club in 2016.
The former Wales international was also interviewed for the managerial role at Swansea City last season, but until now he has not served as a permanent manager at a top-level club.
Everton fired Ronald Koeman on Monday after his side suffered a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend at Goodison Park, which put them in the bottom three with 8 points, worse than Leicester who had a 2-1 victory over Swansea after Craig Shakespeare’s dismissal
“For me, it’s a club I’m interested in. I think you see the two teams, Leicester became the champion two last season, Everton became a fantastic club with fantastic history. However, there are plenty of coaches out there who will be interested in that position, “Giggs said when asked about his chances of coaching one of the clubs.
Interested because of the ambition of the club
Giggs is keen to become Alex Ferguson’s newest student who enters into the world of management, but, despite having a high target, he will not necessarily demand jobs in the Premier League competition.
“I’ve been saying it all along that I will be open to clubs that share my ambitions. I want to fix clubs and improve players, enjoy working with them. There are clubs in the Premier League that will be a good job but I am also open to coaching in Championship and League One. It’s more about my philosophy than club status, “he concluded.
Ryan Giggs spent his entire career playing in the Premier League, especially at Manchester United, and certainly he is very familiar with the style of the club games in the Premier League. That would be a very good stock for him when managing the English club as manager. (Source: Four Four Two)
